Man seriously assaulted in Carlow town

A MAN was seriously assaulted during an incident in Carlow town during which he sustained serious head injuries and was rushed to hospital.

Gardaí were called out to Burrin Manor last week where they found a man, aged in his mid-20s, who was visibly injured. He required medical intervention and hospital treatment for his injuries, which included a head injury.

The incident, which involved a number of men, occurred at around 10.30pm on Thursday 9 October.

Gardaí are trying to establish a motive for the serous assault and are particularly interested in hearing from anyone who may have been in the Burrin Manor estate that night and who may have witnessed the disturbance.

They are particularly interested in finding witnesses who may have seen two cars driving into or exiting the estate at speed at around 10.30pm that night.
