Gardaí bring community safety consultations to rural Carlow
Carlow Garda Siochana is running a series of community consultation sessions this month and next
An Garda Síochána in Carlow is hosting a series of Community Safety Fora across the county to meet with local residents and discuss policing needs in their areas.
The first two fora have already taken place, with meetings held in Rathvilly on 3 November and Myshall on 7 November. The next forum is scheduled for this Wednesday, 19 November, at Muinebheag Resource Centre at 11am.
Superintendent Anthony Farrell said the initiative aims to strengthen community engagement across the county.
“An Garda Siochana management in Carlow are on the road again with the team throughout County Carlow - meeting, listening and talking to the Community,” said Supt Farrell. “These meetings influence service delivery in the area and also give feedback first hand on how policing service is being and also should best be delivered to meet Community needs in that area.” Crime performance in each area is also discussed during the sessions.
“Success for An Garda Siochana is being in the community with people, making ourselves available to questions and being held to account,” he added.
Further fora are scheduled for Hacketstown Community Hall on Tuesday, 2 December at 11am; Borris Library on Monday, 8 December at 12pm; Ballon Community Centre on Tuesday, 9 December at 12pm; and Tullow Parish Centre on Tuesday, 16 December at 12pm.
Light refreshments will be served at all meetings. All members of the community are welcome to attend.
