Funeral arrangements announced for car crash victim
Tommy Cuddihy who died in a car crash on Friday evening
Tributes are pouring in for a man who was tragically killed in a car crash that occurred in Rath East, outside Tullow at the weekend.
Sixty-six-year old Tommy Cuddihy died when his car was struck by another vehicle on Friday 24 October.
Mr Cuddihy died at the scene while his wife, Kay, who was travelling with him, sustained some injuries. The driver of the other car was brought to St Luke’s Hospitl, Kilkenny before being transferred to University Hospital Waterford to be treated for serious injuries.
Mr Cuddihy lived in Cashel Downs, Kilkenny and was originally from Green Street, Callan. He was the father of three children, Simon, Tom and Ciara.
Fr Rory Nolan, PP of Borris expressed his sympathies to the Cuddihy family on RIP.ie, saying that he would pray for them at Mass.
Scores of the family’s neighbours and friends have paid their respect to the much-loved husband and father.
‘Tommy was a much cherished friend and neighbour who will be very deeply missed by all. We have so many fond memories over the years,’ said one contributor.
Another said: ‘I am heartbroken for you all to have lost Tommy in this tragic way especially at this time in his life.’ The death notice on RIP.ie said that he ‘will be deeply missed and his memories kept alive by his beloved wife Kay (née O’Brien), his loving children Simon, Tom and Ciara and their partners. Cherished by his sister, Joan and his brothers Joe, Martin, Pa and Seamus, and their families. Sadly missed by Kay’s brothers, Simon, John, Oliver and Michael, and their families. He will always be remembered by his many friends and work colleagues.’ Mr Cuddihy’s remains will be reposing at Molloy’s Funeral Home, Callan (Eircode R95 Y443) on Thursday 30 October from 4pm, concluding with Rosary and vigil prayers at 7pm.
The funeral will arrive at The Church of The Assumption, Callan (Eircode R95 VK82) on Friday morning 31 October for Requiem Mass at 11am.
