Culture Night

RATHVILLY’S first culture night event, The Slaney Sessions, was held on Friday 18 September in Lawlor’s, Rathvilly.

Organised by Rathvilly Heritage Interest Group, the event attracted a full house and offered an evening celebrating local music, art and creativity.

Featured on the night were three local acts ‒ singer-songwriters Katie Phelan and Paige Fox and the duo of Ivor Rampersaud and Anthony Burrows, who entertained the audience with a varied programme of music.

A mixed media art exhibition added to the atmosphere, showcasing work by local artists Ann Corrigan, Sasha Sykes, William Kenny, Katelyn Dunne and Eve McLoughlin, along with artwork by Hacketstown Art Group. The exhibition highlighted the wealth of artistic talent in Rathvilly and the surrounding area.

The evening was hosted by Nathalie Lennon, while Jake Deverill provided sound and lighting, helping to create a professional setting for the performers and artists.
