DAY TWO: Counting continues in Carlow Kilkenny

1.15pm The fifth count has just been called in the Carlow/Kilkenny count centre. 

No one has reached the quota and Luke O'Connor (Ind) has been eliminated. 

His 1,626 will now be distributed among the remaining 13 candidates. 

12.30pm The results of the fourth count has seen the elimination of Adrienne Wallace (PBPS).

No one has reached the quota of 11.627. 

Adrienne's 1,528 votes will now be distributed. 

12.15pm Counting in the Carlow Kilkenny constituency resumed at 9.30am and quickly gathered pace.

Two counts have been held  over the course of the morning with the distribution of  the votes of Independents John O'Leary and Noel G Walash (Ind) and David Egan of Liberty Republic.

Currently Fianna Fáil's John McGuinness is in front with 9841, followed by Jennifer Murnane O'Connor (FF) on 8,116 and Peter 'Chap' Cleere (FF) 7,235.

Fine Gael's Catherine Callaghan on 6,818 remains ahead of running mates Michael Doyle and David Fitzgerald.

Sinn Féin's Áine Gladney Knox is on 6,516 and remains ahead of party colleague Natasha Newsome Drennan.

Count four - the distribution of Orla Donohoe's (IFP) 818 votes is currently underway.
