Ruby Connolly, a past student at Coláiste Eoin, Hacketstown, was recently honoured at the Kilkenny and Carlow Education and Training Board (KCETB) Student of the Year Awards.

Ruby was one of only five students from County Carlow – and just 13 across Carlow and Kilkenny – to receive this prestigious award, which recognises both academic excellence and a positive contribution to school life.

“Throughout her years at Coláiste Eoin, Ruby’s commitment, kindness and leadership left a lasting impact on every aspect of school life, making this award a fitting tribute to all she achieved. Ruby attended the celebration with her proud parents, John and Linda Connolly, alongside principal Alan Costello and deputy principal Mary Hunt.

The awards ceremony took place in the Newpark Hotel, Kilkenny, where students and families were warmly welcomed by Dr Pauline Egan, Acting Chief Executive and Director of Schools at KCETB.

As Ruby begins an exciting new chapter studying occupational therapy at NUI Galway, everyone at Coláiste Eoin wishes her every success for the years ahead.
