Christmas programme kicks off with Lightfest
Lightfest will kick off Carlow's 2025 Christmas festivities.
COUNTY Carlow’s Christmas programme is being designed as a festive family experience for residents and visitors.
Councillors heard at a recent meeting of the municipal district that the flagship event, , will take place on Saturday 29 November, headlined by the popular act Abbaesque and featuring a spectacular fireworks display by Rocket Pyro.
A revised event layout is being developed to enhance crowd experience, increase festive fun zones and to integrate family-friendly activities.
That same weekend, a ‘Santa Experience’ will launch and travel from Carlow to Bagenalstown and Tullow.
Preparations for the Christmas programme are being finalised in partnership with the library services, arts office and community development teams with a full programme to be launched in October. In addition, a successful pilot of Christmas music on Lower Tullow Street in 2024 will be expanded for 2025.
