Talbot Hotel Carlow is celebrating a major milestone this year as it marks 20 years in business, two decades after first opening its doors in 2005.

Over the past twenty years, the hotel has grown into one of Carlow’s best known hospitality venues, welcoming leisure guests, business travellers, families, weddings and community groups from across Carlow and beyond.

The 84-bedroom property, part of The Talbot Collection, has continually expanded and upgraded its services, now boasting extensive leisure facilities, modern meeting and event spaces, exceptional wedding services and popular dining options including the Liberty Tree Restaurant and An Bhearú Bar & Bistro.

The last three years have seen significant investment across the hotel, reflecting The Talbot Collection’s commitment to ongoing improvement. This includes the transformation of An Bhearú Bar & Bistro, refurbishment and upgrading of bedrooms, and continued enhancement of the gym and leisure facilities. With further exciting developments already planned, the hotel’s investment and modernisation programme is set to continue.

Since its opening, Talbot Hotel Carlow has also played an active role in the wider community, supporting local organisations, charities and sporting groups as well as providing long-term employment opportunities within the county.

General Manager of Talbot Hotel Carlow, Daniel McCarthy, said the anniversary reflects the commitment of staff and the strong support of the local community.

He said: “Reaching 20 years is a proud moment for all the staff at Talbot Hotel Carlow. Our success is built on the hard work of our team and the loyalty of our guests. As we celebrate 20 years, I want to express my heartfelt thanks to our incredible team and to the Carlow community who have supported us from the very beginning. Our staff are the backbone of this hotel, and their dedication is what allows us to continually grow and improve. We are equally grateful to the local families, businesses, and guests who choose us year after year. This milestone belongs to all of us and we look forward to serving Carlow for many more years to come.” As the hotel marks this milestone, Talbot Hotel Carlow is also proud to recognise three remarkable staff members who have been with the property since the day it first opened its doors in 2005. Bozena Tamiola, accommodation manager; Peter Janosko, an accommodation attendant known for his reliability and attention to detail; and Danuta Staszel, a valued member of the food and beverage team. They have each contributed enormously to the hotel’s success over the past two decades. Their loyalty, professionalism and commitment embody the spirit of Talbot Hotel Carlow, and their continued service is deeply appreciated by colleagues and guests.
