Cathaoirleach’s bursary for postgrad students

CATHAOIRLEACH of Carlow County Council cllr Fergal Browne has announced a Bursary 2025 scheme in partnership with the Library Service.

The local authority is offering six bursaries to support postgraduate students who live in Co Carlow. The bursary will be in the form of an Apple Mac Book Air to assist the successful postgraduate students in their research and studies. The objective of the bursary scheme is to support students of master’s and PhD programmes to encourage research and innovation at third level.

Cllr Browne commented: “As cathaoirleach of Carlow County Council, I believe that it is critically important that we invest in education, research and development. Education is the most important cornerstone of our society and it is vital that we invest in people and their education. As cathaoirleach, I am pleased to launch the 2025 bursary scheme for postgraduate students. The scheme is open to all postgraduate students who live in our county. This bursary is an acknowledgment of the importance that we place on accessible education and learning to all.” 

Applications for the cathaoirleach’s bursary are invited from current postgraduate and prospective postgraduate students who live in Co Carlow. Application forms are available on request from Carlow County Council Library Service on 059 9129705 or by email to library@carlowcoco.ie. Applicants must live or have an address in Co Carlow and be a current full-time or part-time postgraduate student or be accepted to start in a postgraduate programme in 2025. Submission deadline is Friday 6 June at 5pm.
