Carlow Voices gave magical evening of seasonal music and storytelling

CARLOW Voices brought their annual Wintersong concert to a packed Scoil Mhuire Gan Smál recently, delivering a magical evening of seasonal music and storytelling.
The performance, held at the Green Lane venue in early December, featured special guest actor Paddy Behan and showcased the 40-strong choir’s diverse repertoire and growing confidence.
The programme ranged from Gordon Lightfoot’s Song for a Winter’s Night to Karl Jenkins’ Adiemus, alongside festive favourites including White Christmas and Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas.
Musical director Marian Gaynor praised the performance and the strong community support.
“I am incredibly proud of Carlow Voices and what we achieved at Wintersong 2025,” she said. “The concert was a wonderful celebration of music and community and it was heartening to see such a fantastic turnout.
“Our singers, soloists and committee all worked tirelessly to deliver a memorable performance and the support from the audience made the night truly special. The growth and confidence within the group is inspiring and I am excited to see what we can accomplish together in the future.”
