Carlow students shine at Student of the Year Awards

Five students from County Carlow were recently honoured at the Kilkenny and Carlow Education and Training Board (KCETB) Student of the Year Awards. In total, 13 students from across Counties Carlow and Kilkenny, each of whom have made a difference to their school community, were awarded for their contributions to their respective schools.

The students awarded from County Carlow were Zoe Joyce, Borris College, Damon Mac Mathuna, Gaelcholáiste Cheatharlach, Carlow, Hannah Doyle, Tyndall College, Carlow. Dylan Jenkins, Coláiste Aindiú, Bagenalstown and Ruby Connolly, Coláiste Eoin, Hacketstown.Now in its twelfth year, KCETB’s Student of the Year Award recognises personal and academic achievement. It is awarded to the student who has contributed to their school in a meaningful way during their time in post-primary education and the student’s capacity to make a difference to their school community. KCETB provides full-time educational services across 13 post-primary schools locally. 

The students, along with their parents, principals and deputy principals were welcomed to the award event at the Newpark Hotel, Kilkenny by the acting Chief Executive and Director of Schools Dr Pauline Egan, and the chairperson, cllr Andrea Dalton.
