Busking session in Fairgreen SC

AFTER the success of last year’s Christmas Busk in Fairgreen Shopping Centre, Carlow’s finest musicians are returning to raise funds and awareness for St Clare's Hospitality Kitchen.

On Saturday 20 December a collection of musicians, singers and performers will rock around the Christmas tree, giving their time and talents to add an extra bit of sparkle to the shopping centre as punters do their final bits of festive shopping.

The event is very timely given that it’s in aid of St Clare’s Hospitality Kitchen which gives out free meals for those who need a helping hand.

The busking session is the brainchild of Emmet Jones who is known for pioneering music from his native county of Carlow.

Earlier this year, he and his partner, Shannon Doogue set up the Carlow Music Playlist on Spotify where they collated music from new and established local bands in one handy place on the internet.

Starting at 2pm in the Fairgreen SC, this is an opportunity to come to see and enjoy some festive tunes with some of the county’s best musicians. Expect to see Asophonics, Dara & The Patsys, Maryann, Gala Hutton, Becca Mitchell, Just Alice and Jim Siney.
