Carlow area salons dominate awards 

Carlow town alone has 11 finalists

SEVERAL Carlow-based hair and beauty businesses have secured multiple nominations in the prestigious Irish Hair & Beauty Awards 2025: Chapter 1, showcasing the county’s thriving beauty industry.

Leading the local charge is Carlow town, which has an impressive eleven finalists across various categories. Hairology has been nominated for Hairdresser of the Year, while Blake’s Hair Salon is up for Hairdressing Experience of the Year. The town’s strong representation continues with Darque and MD Hair both nominated for Hairdressing Team of the Year.

In the beauty sector, Anno Beauty Salon has earned nominations in both Beauty Experience of the Year and Local Beauty Salon of the Year categories. The Hair & Beauty Boutique is competing for both Hair & Beauty Salon of the Year and Beauty Salon Excellence of the Year, while Lavish Studio rounds out Carlow's hairdressing nominations in the Experience category.

The beauty excellence continues with Butterfly Beauty Plaza nominated for Beauty Salon Excellence of the Year, and Home of Shellac representing the county in the Nail Salon of the Year category. Hair by Linda Cummins completes Carlow's strong showing with a nomination for Hair Extensions Technician of the Year.

Tullow is also well represented, with Rathwood Hair Salon nominated for Hairdressing Team of the Year, while The Beauty Boutique at Rathwood has secured a nomination for the same category.

Nearby Athy businesses have also made their mark, with Vogue nominated for Hairdressing Experience of the Year, and both Moda Beauty Salon and House of LA competing for Hair & Beauty Salon of the Year. Amy Tuthill Academy from Athy has been recognised in the Training Academy of the Year category.

Baltinglass entries include Olivia’s Hair Studio (Hairdressing Experience of the Year), Hair by Áine (Hairdressing Experience of the Year), Airbrush Makeup and Hair by Nelly (Hair & Makeup Specialist of the Year), and S&G Beauty (Local Beauty Salon of the Year).

Now in their eighth year, the awards recognise excellence in Ireland’s hair and beauty industry. This year has been split into chapters due to the deep talent pool of professionals across the country, with Chapter 1 focusing on Leinster province.

The winners will be announced at a ceremony on 12 October at the Park View Hotel. Voting remains open until one week prior to the event.
