“Bounceland” returns to The Exchange this Christmas
Looking for a way to expend some selection-box induced vivaciousness? Parents are in luck: Bounceland is returning to The Exchange in Carlow town next weekend.
Children between 4 and 12 years old will get to jump for joy (and for free) on Sunday 21 and Monday 22 December 2025 courtesy of Carlow County Council and Scats Bouncing Castles.
In addition to bouncing castles, there will be interactive family games and face painting. The event aims to provide a safe, inclusive and enjoyable environment for families to come together during the busy Christmas period.
This family favourite event forms part of Féile Lonrach, the festival of seasonal events and activities in Carlow.
Cllr Paul Doogue, mayor of Carlow Municipal District, noted the Council’s effort to provide “a free, high-quality family event in the heart of the town centre” to both enliven the town centre and ensure “that everyone can take part in the Christmas celebrations”.
Kieran Comerford, Head of Economic Development & Enterprise with Carlow County Council, said he hoped that families will use this event as an opportunity to support local retailers, cafés and hospitality businesses in the town centre over the Christmas period.
Bounceland will be open from 10.00am to 5.00pm, with each family booking consisting of a one-hour time slot, with 45 minutes of active playtime. There will be a 15-minute transition period to allow each group to exit safely and enable the next group to enter.
Tickets are free of charge and are available via Eventbrite on a first-come, first-served basis. Families are kindly asked to arrive at least 10 minutes before their allocated session to support the efficient running of the event.
