Boil water notice lifted in Bagenalstown

The Boil Water Notice affecting Bagenalstown Public Water Supply has been lifted with immediate effect today, Wednesday.   Uisce Éireann can confirm that, following consultation with the Health Service Executive, customers on this supply can now resume normal use of their water supply.   This notice was issued on Monday, 11 August, as a precautionary measure to protect the health of approximately 3,124 customers after a bacteriological failure from a sample on the network was detected Customers impacted include those in Parc Muire, Bagenalstown Town Centre, Borris Road, Saint Bridget's Crescent, Father Cummins Park, Conway Park, The Long Range, Eastwood and surrounding areas.

Uisce Éireann’s Shane Alyward acknowledged the impact of the notice on the community. “Uisce Éireann regrets the inconvenience that the Boil Water Notice caused. In consultation with the HSE and following testing on the network, we are lifting the notice with immediate effect. The Boil Water Notice was put in place as a precautionary measure, as protecting public health is Uisce Éireann’s number one priority. We acknowledge the inconvenience caused to homes and businesses.”
