BAGENALSTOWN town centre is one step closer to getting a €500,000 improvement project after officials approved the funding. The Department of Rural Affairs has approved a substantial allocation of €500,000 in funding under the Town and Village Renewal Scheme for a transformative project in Bagenalstown. This funding will be used to carry out significant public improvement works in the heart of the town, specifically focused on the Market Square.
The proposed project aims to revitalise this key urban space, enhancing both its aesthetic appeal and functionality for residents, visitors and businesses alike. As part of the improvements, Market Square will undergo a redesign to create a more attractive and welcoming environment. This will include, among other works, footpath improvements, street furniture, public lighting and new landscaping elements, as well as improvements to the road and road marking.
