A DRIVER was detected travelling at almost twice the speed limit on the R430 in Crettyyard, Laois during the second week of An Garda Síochána’s Christmas road safety campaign.

A person has been charged following the seizure of cannabis in Carlow town last week.

GARDAÍ are investigating two separate burglaries that occurred in County Carlow last Friday, 3 October. The first incident took place at a house in Cloghrusk, Bagenalstown, at approximately 3pm.

GARDAÍ seized approximately €1,000 worth of cocaine and drug paraphernalia, including weighing scales, following a search of a private dwelling in Rathvilly on Monday, 29 September.
