Third Year Students Fashion Show

PRESENTATION College Carlow held its annual French Week, or ‘Semaine Française’, recently, as students immersed themselves in French language, culture and cuisine.

During the week, French students took part in a wide range of activities such as games mornings, treasure hunting, geography challenges, a fashion show and even speed dating, in a bid to improve their confidence in speaking en français.

One of the highlights for students was the addition of a fashion show to the week’s proceedings.

Third year students embraced their inner supermodel as they walked the catwalk, showing off their designs and creations.

The 16 students travelling to Tanzania in October also held a crepe morning as part of a fundraising effort, raising over €500 in the process, which will be donated to the Terretta Foundation in support of its mission to help vulnerable children in Tanzania.

The week was a tremendous success with French teacher Ms Bowden adding that for the students it was “undoubtedly educational as well as enjoyable.” “From sports to treasure hunting, ‘la Semaine Française’ allowed each student to become more accustomed to the French culture and way of life,” Ms Bowden said.

Vive le français!
