Sixth-class pupils, who were taking part in their final appreciation day, created a medley of different songs that were associated with or included the word ‘light.’ Not to be outdone by their older peers, some fifth-class pupils demonstrated their jiving skills by putting on a fabulous show while there were also Irish dancing performances by the younger classes.

Throughout the year, pupils benefit from specialist workshops with Keelin McDonald overseeing the drama classes, Alison Behan music and Katie Whelan art.

Acting principal Stacey Brooks explained how the annual art day keeps growing in size and sophistication, adding that it was great that pupils could bring their external work and passions into the school for the day and share their ideas and skills.

“It shows that their talents are appreciated by everyone in the school and it is great that there is a collaborative effort from all the teachers as well,” she said.
