Bike fundraiser for dementia across Carlow raises €2,500
Organisers of the The Mall charity motorbike run cllr Paul Doogue and Haley and Gerry Whelan
THE rumble of motorbikes heading up the road from The Mall, Killeshin marked the start of a fundraiser in aid of the Alzheimer's Society of Ireland and Carlow dementia supports on 20 July. The group travelled around 200km of scenic countryside and raised €2,500 for the cause, which they donated on 30 July.

Councillor Paul Doogue organised the fundraiser after Paul and Tara Rice went knocking on business doors in Carlow informing people of their hopes for it becoming a dementia-friendly town.
Paul looks after “the social side” and said they want to purchase a PA set for events.
George and Haley Whelan of The Mall helped to make it all happen, organising a free barbecue and putting on live music.
Paul thanks all the businesses and people who donated spot prizes and everyone who bought tickets.
