ONE of the last duties for the outgoing cathaoirleach of Tullow Municipal District to do was to host an awards night in which he got to recognise people whose work or lives impact positively on the community.

Councillor John Pender had a long list to chose from but he finally whittled it down to ten people who he most wanted to honour.

He, and Carlow County Council, recently hosted a night of celebration in Teach Bhríde, Tullow where ten award recipients were recognised and thanked for their achievements, commitment and community spirit.
