Run off Xmas excess at a Goal Mile near you
The GOAL mile is taking place at various venues around the county this Christmas
FANCY an opportunity to run off the excesses of Christmas while also supporting the life-saving work of Goal?
The Goal Mile is one of Irish humanitarian charity Goal’s flagship fundraising events. This beloved Christmas tradition will once again raise critical funds for Goal’s life-saving humanitarian work in 14 countries across Africa, Latin America and the Middle East.
Three Goal miles take place in Carlow this festive season, all at 11am: on Christmas Day at St Laurence O’Toole’s Athletic Club, Askea; on St Stephen’s Day at Palatine GAA Club, Bennekerry and St Mullins GAA Club.
Last year, the Goal Mile took place at 160 sites around Ireland and some overseas, as far as Australia and the USA, raising a terrific €630,000. This year also marks a major milestone as AIB has renewed its support for the Goal Mile for another three years.
This year, Goal hopes to beat that figure and would encourage all in Co Carlow to come along to the various events to run, jog or walk in support of this very worthy cause.
