A 5k/10k fundraising run will be held in Rathoe Village this Easter Saturday (4 April) in memory of Noel O’Connor from Kellistown, who sadly passed away shortly before Christmas.

In his honour, family and friends are raising money for the Beaumont Hospital Foundation to thank the doctors and nurses who cared for Noel in his final weeks.

The run will begin at 10.30am Saturday morning, with participants able to collect their number from 9am to 10.15am at Rathoe Hall (R93K5C6).

There is a €20 entry fee per adult, and €10 for under-16s. There will be a prize for the first male and female in both races, and each finisher will receive a bespoke medal. Refreshments will be provided in Rathoe Hall after the race.

Free parking will be available, with stewards on hand to assist. There will also be a baggage drop-off area, and a shuttle bus will be on hand to transport people to the start line, if needed.

Noel organised many 5k and 10k fundraising races for Fighting Cocks GFC and was an integral part of the club for much of his life.

For those unable to attend on the day, they can donate by using the following link: https://www.idonate.ie/fundraiser/keithbolger and registration for the race is available via this link: https://www.popupraces.ie/race/noel-oconnor-memorial-5km-10km-run-in-aid-of-beaumont-hospital/
