“THIS was the busiest fair we’ve ever had,” Shauna Fitzpatrick, Myshall Christmas fair organiser, said. “It was constantly busy with people flowing in and out.” The fair, which has been running for a number of years, was held at Myshall community centre on 30 November and was run in conjunction with Cuisle Mhíseal.

Several tables were taken by local secondary school pupils selling things like homemade dog treats, cookies and snowmen and reindeer figurines. Myshall National School parents’ council put on a bake sale and Santa’s grotto to raise money for the school.

A number of local businesses such as Amy’s Lashes also had stalls. Some independent crafters sold their wares, like John Lawlor, who sold a variety of children’s knits and toys. Richie Kavanagh’s daughter also made an appearance to promote his new book Richie Kavanagh: Craic, Stories & Songs.

The local chapter of children’s dance troop Dance Republic provided entertainment for fairgoers by performing while people shopped.

Ms Fitzpatrick said that she got brilliant feedback from those who attended the fair and is already excited about recreating the fair’s magic next year.
