More than €7,000 raised for home care team at Borris golf weekend

OVER €7,000 was raised recently for Carlow/Kilkenny Home Care following an open weekend at Borris Golf club.

The event, which took place last month, was organised by Mary Quirk who expressed her thanks to all those who entered teams and supported the event by providing sponsorship and buying raffle tickets.

Particular thanks were extended to the event’s main sponsors Dan Morrisey Ltd, Hill Mechanical and Electrical, Arch Plumbing and Heating Ltd, Wilson Contract Services, BOBF Ltd and Canadian-based Foley Coating Inc.

In total, €7,100 was raised and a cheque was presented to the chairperson of the Bagenalstown branch of Carlow/Kilkenny Home Care Marion Smyth by Mary and Borris Golf club captain Hugh Kelly, among others.

The fourball competition was won by James Kielty and Brendan Kiernan with 45 points. In second place were Hud Kelly and Michael Dundon, while Greg Murphy and Eamon Quirke came third on 43 points.
