Live and Local to host Carlow bands in Visual
Live and Local will host four acts in Visual over the
On Saturday 1 November, as part of Samhain Festival 25, VISUAL will play host to Carlow Live and Local fourth.
The night promises to be pack with great music with Manden Express who fuse West African music with jazz and rock influences; accomplished solo songwriter Klara McDonnell, Irish-Indian harp and guitar duo Indeceltic and melodic rock band Star Comedy Democrats.
Live and Local is an initiative of Carlow County Council Arts Service and grew from the national Live and Local Performance Scheme that local authorities managed during the pandemic. 2025 sees the return of Carlow Live and Local, with the initiative being managed again through the Carlow Arts Office.
Since its inception it has showcased Carlow musicians and has seen wonderful local raw talent flourish and nurtured with the voice of the community and local musicians at its core.
