Gala dinner to support work of charity Autism Heroes

Upcoming event for Autism Heroes

IT’S time to put on your favourite dress or your best suit, because Autism Heroes is hosting its annual gala ball soon!

It’s the charity’s biggest fundraiser of the year and is much anticipated by those who've previously attended.

The special night is taking place in the Woodford Dolmen Hotel, Carlow on Friday 4 April, when guests will be invited to a prosecco reception before settling down to a beautiful dinner.

After dinner, there will be guest speakers and musical entertainment.

Autism Heroes is an organisation that was established by Louise Moran, who is the mother of an autistic child.

The family had been living in Australia, where services for families were excellent. When Louise returned home to Ireland, though, she was dismayed at the lack of support so she set up Autism Heroes to help families in the autistic community.

They have a monthly support group for parents or family members of autistic children.

They have one-to-one swimming lessons, a swimming summer camp, wellness evenings and speakers who attend the support group. Autism Heroes has an online support group, too, where families can post anonymously if they choose.

Some of the work that Louise is involved with is liaising with government officials, while also advocating for her community.

If you’d like to be a sponsor for Autism Heroes, please email Louise on info@autismheroes.ie

Tickets for the gala ball at €60 each are available on Eventbrite.
