Expo will provide lifestyle advice for over-55s

CARLOW Older Person’s Forum, with the support of Age Friendly Carlow, Healthy Carlow, Carlow County Development Partnership and UPMC, is delighted to host the upcoming Living Well Expo. This free event will take place on Tuesday 22 October in the Woodford Dolmen Hotel. The purpose of the event is to showcase the supports and services available for individuals aged 55 and over in Co Carlow.
The Living Well Expo will feature over 40 exhibition stands from local organisations, including An Garda Síochána, HSE, SETU Lifelong Learning, Visual, Carlow Volunteer Centre, Carlow Libraries, Carlow Fire Service, Carlow Sports Partnership, UPMC, Halo Care and Social Prescribing.
Attendees will have the opportunity to connect with various service providers and discover resources that promote healthy, fulfilling and active lifestyles.
Speakers at the event will include Carlow Age Friendly ambassador Faith Amond and Majella Cunningham, HSE Integrated Care for Older People. Additionally, the Alzheimer’s Society of Ireland will be on site with its dementia bus, providing valuable resources and information.
Attendees can also take advantage of free health checks and visit stands dedicated to a wide range of topics, including tips for reducing energy costs, information on housing grants, community engagement initiatives, recreational activities tailored for older adults and much more.
The event will kick off at 10.30am with tea, coffee and scones on arrival. Sandwiches will be served at 1pm. The speakers and information stands will be followed by a tea dance in the afternoon.
