Transition year class graduation in St Mary's Academy CBS

ST MARY’S Academy CBS, Carlow was abuzz with excitement and pride recently as staff, parents, guardians and students gathered to celebrate the transition year graduation ceremony.
This memorable event marked the culmination of a year filled with personal and academic growth, creative projects and community involvement for the TY students.

The evening began with an impressive showcase of students' work, featuring a diverse array of projects that highlighted their learning experiences. From artistic displays and scientific experiments to community service projects and entrepreneurial ventures, the exhibit demonstrated the students' creativity, dedication and hard work. Attendees were presented with a TY yearbook compiled by the students themselves, which they will have as a keepsake to look back on.

Formalities were initiated by TY head Mr Browne, who opened with a heartfelt speech. He reminisced on the past year and spoke with pride and admiration for the young individuals who had grown and developed in numerous ways.
Following Mr Browne’s opening remarks, TY student of the year Leon Fitzgerald delivered a witty and charming address that included humorous anecdotes and heartfelt insights about his experiences during the year. His speech was a highlight of the evening, resonating with peers and adults alike.

Class teachers then presented awards to three outstanding students from each class.
The event concluded with a sense of accomplishment and anticipation for the future. The gym, which had been a hub of activity and celebration, echoed with warm conversations and congratulations as attendees mingled and reflected on the day’s events. As the attendees left the gym, there was a shared feeling that the future holds great promise for these young graduates.
