Kind-hearted Bishop Foley NS presents €1,000 to Éist

Principal John Kelly, teacher Lisa Murphy and pupils, Vincent Condon and Sean O' Higgins present a cheque to Anne Marie Peters from Éist

KIND-HEARTÉD pupils from Bishop Foley NS, Carlow raised lots of money for a great cause when they organised a jumble sale and presented a cheque in recent weeks to the Éist Cancer Support Service.

The boys raised €1,000 at their annual Christmas jumble sale.

Former deputy principal Vincent Kehoe organised the jumble sale with the help of the sixth-class pupils. They and their families were invited to donate toys, jigsaws, books, puzzles and knick-knacks that were no longer being used and were in good condition. The sixth-class boys did a great job and they sold plenty of raffle tickets.

Principal John Kelly, teacher Lisa Murphy and two sixth-class pupils, Vincent Condon and Seán O' Higgins, went to the Éist Cancer Support Centre in Askea, Carlow and presented a cheque to acting manager Anne Marie Peters.
