CHAS lecture looks at the heart of County Carlow’s heritage
A heritage event that took place last summer
CARLOW Historical and Archaeological Society (CHAS) are hosting what promises to be a fascinating lecture tonight, Wednesday 15 April, looking at the county’s rich heritage.
Heritage officer, Dr Eoin Sullivan will deliver the talk, , showcasing some of the many local projects that are taking place.

There is a steady increase in the number of community groups availing of the assistance offered by the staff of the County Carlow Heritage Office. Several community groups have delivered inspiring heritage projects, that are helping the county get further recognition at a regional and national level. Some of these projects will be outlined in the lecture. Initiatives such as the annual Carlow Heritage Seminar have grown in strength with this year’s event taking to the road with a coach tour to visit key sites such as Ballymoon Castle, Newtown and Tinryland, all free of charge including a light on Saturday 18 April.
The lecture will explore the valuable role of the Carlow Heritage Forum and how its focusses attention on everyday heritage through the collaboration of its wide membership.
The lecture is taking place tonight at 8pm in the Seven Oaks Hotel, Carlow.
