Carlow student James is ‘solicitor of future’

A STUDENT from Tyndall College, Carlow is a Solicitor of the Future after successfully completing the Law Society of Ireland’s innovative legal education programme.

James Lopes Farrell of Tyndall College was one of 40 transition year students who attended the popular week-long Solicitors of the Future programme at the Law Society’s Blackhall Place headquarters in Dublin in February.

Delivered by leading legal experts, the immersive, activity based programme featured practitioner led workshops, guest speakers, courtroom exercises and a dedicated careers seminar. In total, students from ten counties participated.

Places on this year’s programme were allocated by lottery, with 20% reserved for students attending socio economically disadvantaged schools. It is designed for anyone interested in exploring a career in law.
