Carlow man a 'gentleman to all who knew him'

The late Jim Kehoe
The late Jim Kehoe
Sympathy is extended to the Kehoe family on the recent passing of Jim Kehoe, Brampton, Ontario, Canada and formerly of Ballybar on 29 May.
Jim, who was aged 53, was from a well-respected local family and was a gentleman to all who knew him.
Jim was educated in Carlow CBS and in Sligo. Having worked in Lapple Ireland, he then emigrated to work in Canada in the 1990s. He was married to Naomi and had four daughters - Jade, Jaylene, Jordana and Meadhbh.
Jim was known for his quick wit, big heart and his love of life. A talented sportsman, he was a fine gaelic footballer in his prime and was a great lover of all sports. Above all, Jim lived for his family.
Naomi and the girls were the centre of his world and he never let a day go by without showing how much he loved them.
Predeceased by his father Paddy and his brother Tom, he is survived by his mother Anne, wife Naomi, daughters Jade, Jaylene, Jordanna and Meadhbh, brothers Paddy, John, Vinny, Des and Mick, sisters Helen and Anne-Marie, extended in-laws, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Tinryland GFC members provided a guard of honour at his funeral on Saturday 5 July with his brother Mick being the current senior manager and his late father Paddy being a former chairman of the club.
The large crowds present for one of the largest funerals seen in Tinryland in recent times was testament to the esteem in which Jim and his family are held in the community.
Funeral Mass took place in St Joseph’s church, Tinryland, followed by burial in the adjoining cemetery.
