Online talk for parents supporting children through grief
Anam Cara CEO, Michelle Reynolds, says the charity wants bereaved siblings to know that their loss matters, and that they too deserve to feel seen, understood and supported.
AN online event titled offering parents guidance to support their children while navigating their own grief by bereavement support group Anam Cara began last Tuesday 15 September at 7pm. It will take place every Tuesday for the rest of the month.
Anam Cara had said that all parents are welcome, regardless of the age of their child. The organisation hopes that it will be the first in a series of events focused on sibling bereavement.
Anna May, founder of the UK’s Student Grief Network and Michelle Hartnett, a senior play therapist who works with Laura Lynn Children’s Hospice, will speak at the event about their work supporting families and young people through loss.
Anam Cara was founded by bereaved parents and its CEO Michelle Reynolds said that this event “is a another really important step towards ensuring that the grief of every member of the family is seen and acknowledged.” People can register for the event using the link https://us02web.zoom.us/meeting/register/of6t-RhtRju5bzN9fQuIVQ#/registration.
