Lions Club book fair returns to Potato Market
Thousands of books are available
THOUSANDS of books will go on sale at bargain prices during the Carlow Lions Club annual book fair beginning next week.
The fair will run every day from Monday 20 April, 10am to 6pm, excluding Sundays, in the former Elaine Curtis shop at Potato Market in Carlow town centre.
It is staffed by volunteers from the Lions Club and their friends, with all funds going towards people in need in the area, especially in Carlow.
John Brophy, project leader of the book sale, encouraged people to spend an hour rummaging through the thousands of books on offer this summer â some big, some small, with new and old titles and plenty of locally written books.
All books are on sale for €1 and children get the better deal with an offer of three kids' books for €1.
John thanked the many volunteers for their work that makes the fair possible, the McLoughlin family for their hospitality and Eugene McGovern for his continued help.
