KILQUAN Drama Group will present the hilarious three-act comedy Stop it Nurse later this month – a side-splitting night that’s not be missed!

The comedy by Sam Cree is directed by Benny Mills and takes place in Coon Hall (R93 EC89) on Friday 31 January, Saturday 1 February and Sunday 2 February. The following weekend, it’s back from Friday to Sunday 7-9 February, all at 8pm nightly.

The play tells the story of two patients who share the same ward: Bert Cooper (played by Martin Murphy), a man with marital issues, and Harold Smiley (Paddy Doheny), a man with a weak bladder. Their peace is shattered when ardent Naomh Bríd supporter Sammy McCracken (Tom Murphy) and Martin Curran, an equally ardent fan of St Martin’s, are admitted, leading to much antagonism.

Add to this, the caustic Sister (Ann Tunstead), playful nurse Freda (Eimear Donohoe) and nurse (John Ryan), eccentric spinster and hospital visitor Miss Cherry (Maria Purcell) and a few other hilarious characters such as wrestler Mad McGurk (Brian Fitzpatrick), Bert’s wife Martha (Clare Ryan) and his bit on the side Dolores (Jamie Holohan) and you have a recipe for madness and mayhem, all in the setting of the hospital ward from hell!

Refreshments will be served free of charge after the play. Donations and proceeds from the raffle over each of the nights will be made to various local charities and community groups.

There are no bookings, so come early. Admission is €10 and doors open at 7pm.
