Glen Austin is a musician and music producer who specialises in re-interpreting classic, folk and modern Irish music. He’s just been told that New Airs’ interpretation of Thin Lizzy’s
is on the soundtrack to a new series on Acorn TV, featuring Alicia Silverstone, called .“It came out of the blue, really,” said Glen. “The musical director of the series got in contact with me in January this year about using the track and, between the contract clearance and all, the final go ahead was about two months ago.”
The series is just about to be launched on Acorn TV in America where the story features Silverstone as a lawyer who’s been estranged from her father. After receiving a message from him, she travels to Ireland where she unlocks her family’s dark past.
“The series was shot almost completely in County Wicklow so that’s nice because my dad, Tom is from Carnew. This is the first time that New Airs have been used on a big television production and it’s very cool to be associated with it. It’s released in the USA and may be released on Sky later this year,” said Glen.
