‘Bittersweet’ podcast on sugar factory to launch on Carlow Culture Night
The Bittersweet radio documentary will be launched on Friday 18 September at 5pm.
CULTURE night in Carlow on Friday will mark the launch of a new radio documentary that charts the rise and fall of Carlow sugar factory.
The programme, called was created by Carlow writer Marc-Ivan O’Gorman, 100 years after the founding of the factory.
It will be launched at 5pm in Carlow County Museum, College Street. Former employees, beet growers and the wider community are invited to gather, share memories and hear excerpts from a programme that evokes the factory's story through voice, music and atmosphere.
