Lowry makes Ireland debut

Cormac Lowry, wearing number 20 in the front row, was part of the Ireland U16 team who beat Poland this week.
Carlow’s Cormac Lowry made his international debut as Ireland U16s beat 1-0 beat Poland in Żary earlier this week.
The Ballinabranna youngster, who played in Carlow for New Oak before signing for Waterford in 2023, was introduced in the 77th minute of the game in which Shamrock Rovers’ Bobby Zeller scored the only goal.
Lowry is now in the running for his first international start when Ireland face Poland once more in the second of this week’s friendly games at midday on Thursday in Szprotawa.
