Fixtures confirmed for historic CK Utd season

CK United will begin their National League campaign in just over a month when they host Newbridge Town in a local derby on Saturday 29 August after fixtures for the inaugural National League season were released this week.
Tom O’Connor’s side will then have a week’s break as the odd side in the group before making the long trip down to Celtic Park to face Killarney Celtic on 12 September. They will host Waterford side, Villa FC on 19 September before travelling to Cork to face UCC on 26 September as the first round of fixtures comes to an end.
CK will begin their second round of fixtures on 3 October when they host Killarney Celtic. They will again be the odd side the following week before they travel to Station Road to face Newbridge on 17 October. On 24 October, they will host UCC before finishing up their campaign on Halloween evening with a trip to WorkLAB Connors Park to face Villa where O’Connor’s side will be hoping a big win against the Waterford side will secure their spot in the semi-finals.
All games will kick off at 2pm, except the away games against Newbridge and Villa which will take place at 5pm. The FAI website has confirmed that with Buckley Park still not ready yet, the CK home games will take place at SETU Carlow Sports Campus.
There will be plenty of Carlow interest when CK Utd kick off with Carlow League players, Dean Kelly, Lord Afrifa, Jordan Harmon and Owen McCormack all making the move so far, whilst Timmy Adeleye and Isaac Emmanuel will be promoted from the academy.
Before those competitive games, there will be a little piece of history this weekend as the club play their first ever senior match. They meet Jobstown United in a friendly match at 2pm on Saturday in Killeshin and then play another game against a Waterford Utd selection on Monday at 2pm at the same venue.
