Dwyer back in the League of Ireland

Lauren Dywer was part of Bennekerry/Tinryland team that won an All-Ireland title in Croke Park at the end of 2024 but she will be back on the soccer pitch in 2025 after re-signing for Wexford FC

Lauren Dwyer is back in the League of Ireland after re-signing for Wexford FC ahead of the 2025 season.

Her previous spell with Wexford, which saw her win three league titles and three FAI Cups, was cut short by injury but when fit she showed herself to be one of the best defenders in the league.

Dwyer brilliantly bounced back to fitness in a Bennelerry/Tinryland jersey as she helped inspire her club to a Carlow and Leinster title before crowning the year with a famous All-Ireland title in Croke Park.

But her attentions will turn back to soccer and helping get Wexford back competing for trophies again. It would appear that Wexford are building a strong squad with the likes of Riana Jarrett, Ellen Molloy and Lauren Kelly all returning, and Dwyer certainly will add something special for a team who will once again be captained by Kylie Murphy next season.
