Bridge United delivered a phenomenal performance over the weekend to beat Clare club, Avenue United, to win the SFAI U14 National Trophy.
Based along the Carlow/Kilkenny border, Bridge United's U14s reached the final after an incredible run, beating top sides from Galway, Mallow, Portlaoise and Kilcullen along the way.

The final, played at Evergreen Park, Kilkenny, saw Bridge rattle the net three times, courtesy of Eoghan Burke, Charlie Carter and Adam Lanigan from the penalty spot, on their way to a famous 3-1 victory.
The club features Carlow players Jamie Phelan, from Ballinkillen, and Joseph Foley, from Borris, who each played a key role in the journey to the final.
The majority of the United squad are players from Goresbridge, Gowran and Paulstown, with a number of the boys attending school in Borris.

Bridge are on the verge of making more history, with a potential league and cup double up for grabs.
United are currently third in the Kilkenny and District League U14 Division 1, but victories in their remaining games against Evergreen and Stoneyford would see the Carlow/Kilkenny club crowned champions.
