Guru Thiru, a 16-year-old student from Carlow CBS (5th year) and a member of the Carlow Tennis and Badminton Club, has made local sports history by representing Ireland at the prestigious Four Nations Badminton Tournament. 

Guru competing in the men’s singles category, delivered a standout performance by defeating players from England and Wales, becoming the first-ever player from Carlow to achieve this feat. Guru’s victory is not only a personal milestone but also a significant achievement for the Carlow Tennis and Badminton Club. His success on the international stage underscores his talent and dedication to the sport, making him one of the brightest young athletes to emerge from the region.
