Carlow Regatta to be held this weekend

Carlow Rowing Club is gearing up for its biggest and most important weekend of the year. This weekend will see clubs travel from all over the country to race at our annual regatta. Carlow regatta is always a fan favourite around the country allowing rowers to showcase their skills and the hard work they have put in during the year. With the disappointment of our regatta having to be postponed until later in the year due to poor weather conditions, there is a real buzz of excitement around the club and the town for this upcoming event.

On Saturday 30th of May we will be hosting a Recreational regatta. This will be a number of shorter races highlighting our incredible adult recreational group. This event will start at 12pm.

On Sunday morning, 31st of May, racing will start at 8.30 and will run until 16.30. With 114 races it is sure to be an action-packed day. There will be events from J13 right up to masters and everything in between, so there will be something for all ages to enjoy from the banks.

There will be light refreshments provided in the gym of the rowing club so come grab a cup of tea or coffee and watch some racing.

A particular and sincere thank you to all the businesses and individuals, who every year, sponsor our regatta. Without their support, running the regatta would not be possible. The regatta would also not be possible without the great numbers of volunteers who give up their weekend to make the regatta happen, from cleaning before and after, making sandwiches, stewarding and umpiring, there is a lot of work that happens behind the scenes to make the event possible.

Please note road closures along the barrow track and there will be limited parking at the town hall carpark during the day.
