The latest meeting of the fledgling Jumps racing season at Fairyhouse arrives on Tuesday with a seven-race offering at the Meath track.

Racing gets underway at 12.32pm with a mares maiden hurdle over the two mile and four furlong trip before the meeting comes to an end at 4.00pm with a two-mile bumper contest.

The opening contest of the card sees a field of 12 head to the start for the two-mile and four furlong maiden hurdle (12.32). Powerhouse handler Willie Mullins sends Cool Park to Fairyhouse for the opener, second in a novice hurdle at Tramore last time out and probably would have won had he settled a bit better but was encouraging enough to suggest he can go one better here. The Gordon Elliott-trained Fillusin looks the main threat, a good third of eight in a Galway novice hurdle on his last spin and has plenty of room for improvement.

Race two on the card (1.07) is a 14-runner handicap hurdle for horses rated between 80 and 116 over the two mile and seven furlong trip. Plenty are in with a shout here but it could be worth siding with Folly Beach for trainer Mark Molloy, shaping well when fourth of 16 in a handicap hurdle 28 days ago at Punchestown and is off the same mark here. Workforadime should benefit from a step-up in trip for the Charles Byrnes yard and rates the chief threat in this stiffer test.

Trainer Gordon Elliott introduced star chaser Gerri Colombe to fences in in the beginners chase at this meeting two years ago and in 2024, introduces Stellar Story to the bigger obstacles off the back of winning the Albert Bartlett at the Cheltenham Festival in race three (1.42) over the two-mile and four furlong distance. Another Cullentra runner in Will Do looks likely to fill the second spot, a decent third of nine in a novice chase at Galway when last seen 17 days ago.

Mullaghmore Wave and General Hubble were first and second at this track just seven days ago and the duo will lock horns again in race four of Tuesday’s card (2.17). The Elliott-trained General Hubble finished strongly to only lose by half a length that day and on revised terms here where Elliott’s charge is better off in weights, is taken to get the better of Mullaghmore Wave from the John McConnell yard this time around.

Ballyphilip was a winner of a Down Royal hunter chase when last seen and won all four point to point races in 2024 so he is marginally preferred in race five at Fairyhouse in the three-mile contest (2.52). Dromleigh rates the main danger for trainer Seamus Murnane, worthy of respect on reappearance having last been seen falling in a hunter chase at Tramore but had shown plenty in points before that.

An 80-102 rated handicap hurdle is the penultimate race on the Fairyhouse card (3.27) as 17 runners head to the start for the two mile and four furlong distance where the Colm Murphy-trained Useta Lover looks the one to beat on handicap debut of a fair mark.

It usually pays to follow trainer Willie Mullins in card-closing bumpers and that certainly is the case in the finale at Fairyhouse as the Closutton handler sends Full Confession for a Rules debut, a €60,000 Kingston Hill gelding and a half-brother to two winners on the Flat that won his sole start in the points scene so is very much of interest with top amateur jockey Patrick Mullins on board for the ride.
