Punters heading to Gowran Park on Saturday will be treated to an eight-race offering at the track.

Racing kicks off at the early time of 11.53am with a two-mile beginners chase, before the card wraps up at 3.55pm when a field of more than 20 runners head to the start for the 0-100 mares handicap hurdle.

Read below for a full rundown of the Gowran Card courtesy of Sporting Life.

Up first is a beginners’ chase for horses aged four and older over the two-mile distance (11.53). Preference is for Lantry Lady who goes well fresh and likely has more to offer over the larger obstacles for the Henry De Bromhead team, a previous winner over this trip over hurdles and while below-par seventh on debut in this sphere, she remains with potential.

Another beginners' chase follows, this time over the two and a half mile trip, for race two on the Gowran card (12.28). Sophia Rose, trained by Gavin Cromwell, left her hurdles form behind at the first attempt over fences when second at Downpatrick a month ago and with the promise of more to come, she looks the answer. Magic Boum is no stable star of Gordon Elliott’s but is sure to be well prepared for this chase debut by the Meath trainer so rates the next best.

De Bromhead could bring up a quick double on the card in race three of the afternoon (1.03) with Downmexicoway in the two-mile handicap chase, who has made a positive start over fences and looks fairly treated on his handicap debut here.

A big field of 18 will tackle the two-mile division one maiden hurdle at 1.38. Harty End, trained by Robert Tyner, was third on his sole start between the flags and the hint should be taken if he's strong in the betting on his Rules debut. Another who showed ability in maiden points is Bergamasquo and he is feared most ahead of newcomer Mart Lane and British bumper winner Latopix.

Division two of the same discipline follows swiftly (2.13) and De Bromhead has another live chance with Tim Toe, a son of Joshua Tree who looked a good prospect when overcoming a troubled passage to make a winning start in bumpers for previous connections and then picked up by the in-form Knockeen handler for his rules debut.

Whatsanotheryear, trained by Padraig Flynn beat the rest easily when beaten only by a useful prospect at Clonmel in December and can go one better this time around in race six (2.45) while the penultimate race of the afternoon (3.20) can head the way of Los Blancos, who improved when second in a novice at this track on qualifying run last month and is fancied to go one better on handicap debut.

Finally, the card comes to a close at 3.55 as a fluid of 20 take on the 0-100 rated mares handicap hurdle over the two mile and three furlong trip, with preference in the finale heading the way of Watty Show, who appeals as a likely improver for the De Bromhead team. That said, the ominous name of Willie Mullins appears with May Call You Back, a winner of a Tramore contest 30 days ago over the bigger obstacles and is now back hurdling.
