Munster were crowned the Wheelchair Hurling Camogie Champions for the fifth time in a row when they beat Leinster in the final by 5-1 to 2-1 in the SETU Carlow indoor arena on Saturday.
It brought to an end a fascinating and competitive competition with the sides all playing each other in a round-robin series with the two finalists emerging.
In a six-a-side encounter with subs rolling in and out, Leinster narrowly beat Ulster by 2-1 to 2-0 in the final group game to book their place in the final. The Northerners put intense pressure on Leinster in the final two minutes.
They couldn’t break down the home defence who were glad to hear the full-time buzzer when it eventually sounded.
Cormac Nolan from Palatine and Setanta Hurling and Camogie Clubs featured with Leinster on the day. He loved every minute of it.

“The excitement of it,” he said, thrilled to beat Ulster to make the final.
“All of our games have been competitive. We didn’t play as well as we could have so we did well to win,” said Cormac.
Deirdre, Cormac’s mother, brought family members and friends to cheer on her son on the day. She was thrilled to see Leinster make the final and hopes more players will come and play the game.
"We are always looking for new players. Leinster is a big province and the panel should be bigger,” she said.

Her son endorses what his mother said.
“Ulster have a lot of players. Not all of them play but they come down and join up together.” It is back to Netwatch Cullen Park for the rest of the football season now for Cormac where he will cheer on Palatine as they try to win back the senior football championship title they last won three years ago.
“Hopefully they will win this year. Rathvilly are the danger,” he cautioned.
