Pair ordered to make donation to children's charity

TWO PEOPLE who pleaded guilty to being intoxicated in a public place were ordered to pay a donation to charity, in lieu of being convicted and fined, when they appeared before Carlow District Court last week.
Tommy Kerrigan, 48 Ferrybank Apartments, Graiguecullen and Chloe Lacey, Brookview Court, Tallaght, Dublin 24 both pleaded guilty to being intoxicated in a public place on 28 August and 27 August respectively.
Inspector Conor Nolan told the court that gardaí were called to the Ferrybank Apartments on 27 August, where they found 24-year-old Ms Lacey in an intoxicated state, that she was arrested for her own safety and brought to Carlow Garda Station.
Insp Nolan continued that a while later, Mr Kerrigan (28) arrived at the garda station, also drunk, and that he refused to leave. The court heard that they had no previous convictions.
