Nighttime water restrictions lifted in Graiguenamanagh and Tinnahinch
Tankering into Graiguenamanagh Water Treatment Plant.
Uisce Éireann confirmed today (Friday, 30 January) that nighttime restrictions introduced for the Graiguenamanagh water supply earlier in the week have ended. Production at the Graiguenamanagh Water Treatment Plant, which affected Tinnahinch and surrounding areas in Co Carlow, was temporarily affected by the high levels of rainfall.
The water body had been monitoring and tankering the supply to support reservoir levels, and normal supply has now stabilised.
“We appreciate the patience shown by the community while we worked to manage the impact of recent heavy rainfall", said Shane Aylward, Water Operations Manager with Uisce Éireann. However, he noted that the weather continues to be unpredictable, and further heavy rain is forecast.
“Our crews will continue to monitor the plant and the local network closely, and we will take every step possible to maintain a reliable supply for Graiguenamanagh and Tinnahinch,” said Mr Aylward.
