Mobile Health Unit in Carlow next week
The Irish Heart Foundation's Mobile Health Unit.
THE Irish Heart Foundation’s Mobile Health Unit will be in Carlow next week as part of an initiative to offer free heart checks in communities throughout Ireland.
The unit will be parked at the Kilkenny and Carlow Education and Training Board premises on the Tullow Road (R93 R2P0) next Tuesday (October 13) from 10am to 3.15pm.
People will have the opportunity to have their blood pressure and pulse checked, helping to promote heart health and support the early detection of high blood pressure, a leading cause of cardiovascular disease.
Nurses will be on hand to provide lifestyle advice and information on maintaining heart health. The checks can also help detect atrial fibrillation, an irregular heartbeat that can lead to serious health issues.
The Mobile Health Unit offers up to 10,000 free blood pressure checks annually, helping to identify people who may be unaware that they have high blood pressure.
